Just giving a warning/reminder Ive been seeing a lot of scams on the epay auctions lately. My suggestion is to avoid the 2nd chances and if sounds to be good to be true, it probably is. Im not knockin ebay, just becareful thats all.

I have bought and sold quite a few parts on ebay with very few problems. I usually make enough to pay for my time and it even pays for some of my purchases!

Of course, there was the guy who wanted me to end a sale early and sell direct to him.

Then there was the dude who bought a part and then asked me to tell him where it went and what it did!! Why did he buy it? I told him what he wanted to know, and even offered to keep the part and send his money back if he decided he really didn't want it. He got the part and is apparently happy with it.

So far the inevitable scams and crooks have been obvious and very easy to avoid.

Uh, well, MOST of the time they're easy to pick out! I just finished a chat session with eBay trying to get my account straightened out. It seems that it was hijacked by someone who managed to con me out of my user name and password through a spoof email that appeared to be from eBay. I thought I was purty good at spotting the crooks, too, but they got me! Good advice: don't ever sign in from a link in an e-mail. Always sign in from the eBay home page!

I got that email too, Joe. It looked very official but like you said never reply to a link like that because regardless of how legit it looks the link doesn't necessarily go to who it says it does even if you check the url that it appears to go to. It can be spoofed to look real.

I have 'bout give up sell'in on ebay, to many people with nuttin to do, sell and give the profit to ebay. I got to were I did not send second change offers, even when I did I think only one time I wuz took up on it. My mistake cuzz I did tell'em I would relist at the original start'in bid. I spend less than 30 min. a week on ebay. Then only cuzz I see sumin thru email then wile their search around. I saw this last nite
Link
This hood has a small hit in the front, i emailed and ask a Question to define that small hit
answer " what you see in the picture is what you get.I do have some that are CAVED in but this one is not bad for the money!.If you want something better I will have one up next week but it will start at more money."
Z-Cussse me but aint the front CAVED in and not a small hit. God'a luv sum of the stuff ya see their.

Just wanted you guys to know, we sell every week on ebay. Second chance offers are good to us. We sometimes sell 3 of an item with one listing especially if 3 guys get all excited about bidding..... Kelly.

Nuttin wrong wif that, if the price izz profitable to ya then go fer it. I never much did cuzz I thought it may look bad like I ran up the bid, I know it happens . For the most part fast moving parts that are plentiful this does not happen to. I have never accepted a second change offer and only one time I wished I did take弾m up cuzz the price from that point on doubled and I never saw it that low again, not even close. Tractor parts for the most part on ebay are a retired mans sport, it hard fer a werk段n man to make段t on profits made on ebay. Its just not their to much competition. Does make fer sum good prices for the consumer if he izz smart enuff to deal wif the rite sellers. If one finds sum段n that brings a good price its not lone till sumone will cut the price so low neither kin turn a buck on it, I never figgered that段n out yet.

Second chance offers... in reply to crazy8, 12-20-2006 15:53:08
I can't see why ebay doesn't do away with the "second chance" feature 'cause so many scams are based on that feature.

If the original auction "falls through", why not just re-list it???

Of course, if ebay stopped the real second chance offers today, folks would still be falling for the fake ones 5 years from now!
