My favorite person is my grandma.
I grew up spending as much time with them as my parents would allow.
My grandpa & I were really tight my whole life, right up til he passed in 2002. He's the reason I live in the country and have an N & a barn today.
Grandma was always a spry yet conservative woman who was the classic old school cook, I mean from any kind of pan gravy to makin the best fried biscuits. (Any kind of meal with any kind of white gravy with bread, rolls or biscuits has always been my favorite!)
After grandpa got sick, she had no option but to change everything to no salt, no sugar, etc. Naturally the taste followed suit, but there was no choice.
Since, the holiday meals have suffered and others in my family have complained when she wasn't around. Some have even quit coming to holidays - Unbelievable! Anyway, at thanksgiving this year, my mom & sister stepped in to help and learn. They felt so bad for my grandma cause the once confident, bossy woman in the kitchen now had to ask them how to do gravy, or if the mac & cheese tasted bad, or if her devilled eggs were the right shade of yellow.
Regardless of how the bad apples in my bunch may feel, I love my grandma and accept any thing she has to offer with open, loving arms.
She's still my favorite.

Favorite saying (Actually a tie between these 2):

"If the dog hadn't stopped to s**t, he'd a caught the rabbit"

"I cried because I had no shoes til I met a man who had no feet"

Merry Christmas all!

My favorite person is my son, who I am missing a lot tonight because of Christmas. He's 26 years old (hard for me to believe!) and studying in Macau. I haven't seen him in nearly 2 years because it's so far away neither one of us can afford to make the trip to visit. But I have hopes for getting there this summer. Here is a picture of him on his first trip to China in 2003, taken by a friend.

I know the feeling Dawn! My son is across the world in Texas. (That is a foriegn country you know!) He is not coming home this Christmas. First time to not be here with his mother and daddy since he was born! Why would somebody want to study in Macow when they could travel to Texas!

Merry Christmas anyway!

Zane

I am most thankful few the knowledge my Daddy gave me, and made avalible to me.

When I was 3 an 4 years old my Dad had me sitting on the ole flat fenders of the old cars watching him werk on them.

When I was 4 years old me and Mom started backing out od the driveway in a 1953 Chevy.

All of a sudden the car strted making a noise.

Momma said what the heck!!!

I said it sounds like the fan belt is comming apart Mom.

(Completly true story, I don't really remember it, but heard it a million times from my Mom.)

That was what the problem was...
