I asked you experts last night about my Jubilee and no fire at the distributor. It was a short in the clip feed into the distributor. The tractor has been stitting up since 1992 and the insulation was rotted away causeing a short. I also discovered a cheap way to replace the insulation between the housing and the clip: cut about a 3/4 inche square of sticky back velcro (both pieces) and stick the two sticky (glue) sides together, make a hole with your knife blade large enough to get the connecting screw through and it makes a dandy insulator. If you want the insulation thicker, cut another square of vecro and add another layer to the normal stick side. You can buy the little attachment clips but they are hard to find and you have to run all over the world for a $2 clip. Worked for me! thanks again. oz

Another thing you could have done was just run the wire through the hole to the points and then put a dab of black RTV in the hole.

Why did't you call me to begin with?????

Happy New Year!

I've used everything from a piece of rubber hose, to a piece of spark plug boot.. whatever ya got works fine vs a short.. etc.

I've had the same problem before and I just stuck a wire threw the hole and then used silicone gasket stuff to fill the hole. I did that about 15 years ago and the silicone is still there and I haven't ever had the problem again on that tractor
