8N Hydraulic Lift Questions

I recently began to put my 8N hydraulic lift back together after buying ZANES adjustment jig. FIrst I was wondering if anybody had any photos of the lift back together. I think I have it back together properly but I have scratched my head about a couple things. In the FO-4 manual (Figure FO147)it appears that the Control Lever is backward compared to the rest of the exploded parts. Because of this I wanted to make sure I have it back together properly.

I also have a couple questions. What is the purpose of the Dowel Pin (Part 85 in the figure) in the Control Lever (Part 84 in the figure)?

I am missing my Spring (Part number 101 in Figure FO146) on the Control Lever Shaft (Part Number 54 in Figure FO146). Does anyone know more about this spring? What is the uncompressed length and approximate diameter?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

RICK GA

Rick the control rod has to be installed so that the flat place can touch the position control spring bolt end.

Actually you don't even need that spring on the control shaft. Just tighten the friction disc down to where the tension is about right. Once that aluminum grows fast to the shaft that little spring is completely useless as far as keeping tension on the disc.

I don't have my books with me.. but the dowel pin.. is probably the short cam follower pin.

If the spring is the one on the shaft tot he hytrol handle.. it is a tension control... I'm unsure of it's length or compression value..
