I have noticed that my 8n has been leaking on both sides of the steering sector. Its kinda messy, so I was wondering if its a big job to replace those seals and are they fairly easy to find....Thanks Fellows, R.M.IN AL.

RM, a fellow Alabaman, the one and only Zane, has many times suggested forgetting the oil in the steering box and instead fit the box with a grease fitting and fill it full of grease. Up here in Iowa, where it gets rather cold on occasion, I used cornhead gear grease because it seems a bit lighter than general purpose grease, esp. when temperatures are -20 and falling. But down where you are, regular grease should be fine according to Zane. Try it and you will be pleased. The grease won't drip out, and it will do a much better job of keeping that top bearing in the stearing box lubed.

BTW, mine takes almost two full tubes of grease to fill the first time.

Check the archives for steering posts. This has come up many times.
