Maybe Don can help with this, but I need to find the wire mesh to go inside my soon to be rebuilt air cleaner. It was on a tractor that suffered a fire. The mesh is gone. I was looking at the old time "Chore Girl" pads, but they are very expensive (2 for $3.47) and it appears it would take a bunch (they are pretty small).
ANy links or contacts for the mesh would be appreciated.

There is 'chicken' wire made for small birds that when rolled up looks almost exactly like the original mesh to me.
I have seen one breather with a coil of this stuff in it. You can cut it to the right height with tin snips and roll your own chunk so it fits tightly up in there.
The holes can be had in 3/4" and 1", whichever you prefer....

Go to your local menards or whatever do it center is near and get an aliuminum expanded metal screen used in humidifiers. can be had in various sizes and thickness, and can be cut to shape on a bandsaw. works real well for replacement screens.

Stop by your local machine shop. They will have 55 gal drums full of lathe turnings. I'm sure they will give you a pail for free - you provide the pail. Looks just about like the original stuffing. Be careful, the turnings can be razor sharp!

Go buy some screen. The purpose of the mesh is to stop the oil. Go to the local hardware store and buy some metal screen for the windows and stuff some up inside. Good luck. You could also use plastic screen or even steel wool pulled apart some. You would be surprised what you could use.
