I got the replacement parts for draught control, but as I was installing them, I noticed the cam follower pin is 1/2 worn away & the cylinder has scratches ( not bad )& about a teaspoonful of oil that has seeped past the rings. The seals / gaskets between the cylinder & the lift cover also seem to be "weeping". Question: should I replace the gaskets, cam follower pin, & upgrade to the NAA piston while I have it open, & if so, should I have the cylinder honed as well?

First: I always look at my cash flow.

Second: However, if I have gone through the trouble of taking something apart and don"t want to do it again down the road I fix and replace. In other words I do what is comfortable at the time. The cam follower pin is 2$ at my local NH dealer, now is a great time to replace it along with the gaskets and if you are taking the cylinder off the lift cover I would fix or replace it as well. I have never honed out the cylinder myself so someone will have to chime in and advise you what to do with that but if it were me, personally, I would replace it because every time I sat on the tractor I would be thinking about it...In that respect..I have issues!

I have a 2N, no cam follower pin, but what I've heard, if it aint right adjustments can be a (female-dog). I have honed my hydra cylinder due to some fairly deep scratches. NAPA had a pack of 3 brake cylinder hones that fits in a drill. I used the longer of the 3. Got the majority of the scratches removed. I have no calipers, have no idea how over-sized I made the cylinder but it now holds my 5 foot bush hog up for 4 hours b/4 hitting the ground. Before it was minutes. HTH.....good luck.....don t. .....
