OK I get that combustion and warm up produces harmful water & acid. Makes sense but never thought of it. Thanks for the info

How about just cranking the 8N to pump some oil and keep the rings from rusting. Just don;t open the fuel shutoff. Have to charge the battery but that is easy.

It is never all that cold here in western washington (but boy is it damp) and the idea of the tools/toys just sitting there for 4-5 months is a bit unsettling.

Phil..... .iff'n yer such a worry-wort, check out what yer 8N Ford Owners Manual ($8, cheap) has to say about about long term storage (chap#3 pg-36) 16-steps, including the use of mil-spec M-4834 engine preservative oil by Socony-Vacuum-Mobile oil company (thats the one with flying red-horse).

Me? BLOCK down the clutch pedal and STABIL gas additive + DRI-GAS. good 50/50 antifreeze, oil and filter change and re-charge the battery in the spring and its ready to start on 6-volts. NO BLUE TARPS, causes condensation and rust; worse than being rained and snowed on..... .Dell
