I have an 8n that has a small placard on the left side of the clutch housing. The number reads (NK170), and below that number reads, 8N-B. Is this the serial # for this tractor? Or is there another location that I should look? Any help would be appreciated,I am trying to get the correct serial # to purchase parts.

That's a casting number you're seeing there. The official serial number is on the side of the engine block.

Take a look at John Smith's really good identification page to help you along. Once you have a serial number off the block, come back to this site and look up the number using the menu on the left side of the page, or we can help you further.

Good luck!
