Why would they need the buyers core if the engines they sell are all new except for the rods? Cut down on the return shipping and just send the rods back.

The topic has come up before. All new except the connecting rods. Those rods must be bullet proof. I think that is the only engine part you cant buy new. Has anyone ever owned a N that threw a rod??

Never noticed it before but they do not sell new piston rods in a couple of the catalogs I just checked. That surprised me.

The 4 cyl.Ford pick ups in 1941-42 pretty much used the 9N tractor engine and they were rated 40 HP @3200RPM.
