Thanx to Dell, souNdguy, Dunk, Bob, Dan, Zane, old & the rest of you fine folks who walked me through it, she's up & runnin' the way she's sposed to! Although I have a stack of 8N "how tos", it seemed so much easier to do these things with the help of those who've BTDT. If it hadn't been for you guys, this old tractor would probably have ended up as ( gulp ) "yard art". Now, I gotta go to the auction & get a load of toys to go with it!
Thanx again, Poot

This seems to be as good a place as any to put up these pics, since you brought up the subject of "yard art". Stumpy(NH) from the other forum was delivering kerosene to a customer and saw this very neglected N (9N, I think he said) with a nice Wagner loader & bucket very similar to the one I have on my 8N. It is really so sad to see a N in this condition, left to rust away for so many years. You can see that a tree has grown up between the loader frame & the bucket. The trunk of another tree has actually grown around one the rear fenders so now the fender is part of the tree.
I would love to have that loader frame and bucket for "spare parts" for mine. Stumpy wrote in his post that he left his name and number with them, since he's interested in rescuing it from its prison.
Thought you all might like to see it.
Carl

What's the matter with yard art? in reply to Poot, 02-20-2007 09:17:20

Pretty soon the weeds will be growing around this piece of art. I also have a young Douglas Fir that has to be moved because it is too close to the driveway. I think I'll transplant it to the engine compartment of the art treasure.

Hey, Poot. Is Poot your last name? I knew a sergeant at Fort Polk LA in December 1966 whose last name was Poot. He ran the mess hall and I think he was an E-6.

Any relation?
