I'm restoring a 1946 Ford 2N and after pulling off the lift cover with the lift control off, I noticed a broken section between the rear housing and the hydraulic section. I was looking from the hydraulic section at the rear end gears. Is this ok?? I know they share the same fluid. Would this really hurt anything or should I get this brazed/welded asap??

Hey Backfire.. I thought the same thing when I rebuilt my lift cover, but when I looked closer, I noticed that the "broken" area was painted... so it hadda been done at the factory. I wouldn't worry about it.
