Hello,
I have a Ford 8n and I dont know which plug is the engine oil drain (I orderd the manual, its on the way).I was going to change the oil. I thought that it would be an easy job, but when I looked there appeared to be four drains. One under the the engine, one under the gear shift, one under the seat and one under the back axel.
Thanks. RDAllison

The one under the engine is the oil drain. The other 3 are your transmission/hydraulic oil drain bolts.

I used to help out in my FIL small engine shop.He gave me a mower to fix.A do it yur self fellow had tried to change the oil in a B&S engine. He locked on to the cam shaft boss with his vise grips and twisted it off.He couldnt understand why he needed a new base on the engine.I fear for this tractor.

Me too, Dan. I think the best thing he can do is wait until he gets a FO-4 manual and reads thru ssome of it before using a wrench on anything.

I'd go one step further... Wait for the fo-4, and then call someone over to help him.. His chances for success will more than double..

That's harsh Dan, at least he's asking questions.

Yes.. it is good that he is asking questions.. but i also don't think it is harsh...

It doesn't take much to figure out that the only plug in the oil pan is where you drain the oil, vs the plug in the tranny which he identified, or the plug under the rear, which he also identified.
