I finished the tuneup today on my 8N.
It has never run this good. And so smooth and quiet.
The kit at TSC was $33. Included plugs but not wires.
I had already changed the plugs and wires.

It looked to me like the distributor (front mount) would go back in 2 different ways. Correctly or 180 degrees out of time. I couldn't tell the difference in the two ways. Must have gotten it right though cause it purrs right along now.

Thanks for all the help and advice y'all gave me.

Distrib. won't go back on but one way...Many, many have been broken when someone tried to force them on with the tang turned 180 out of whack. Best way to reinstall a dist. is to just start the two bolts that hold it to the engine, then while holding slught pressure on the distrub, turn the rotor cap till it falls in place. You will know for sure it is right if there is absolutely no crack/space between the base of the distrib. and the front of the engine. Any space whatsoever means it did not fall into place. When it drops into place with no gap between the base and the engine, tighten the two bolts that hold it to the engine.

Tom--do you know if the 2 bolts have to be torqued to certain specs, or just tightened down like you would any old bolt with the lock washer on? Thanks, Tim
