after my engin rebuild on the 12v frnt mnt 8n i have great oil pressure and every thing seems fine except that rear valve cover seems to be makin alot of noise they all are or were adjusted right when i put em back in before I pull the cover off is thair anything other than adjustment it could be they were ground and seat in well and i expect to hear the valves but it just seems louder toard the back cover

hey Lefty..... ..did ya think to check yer muffler clamp? (BIGG side down) Leaky exhaust can sound like lifters.

tip: JACK-UP yer muffler so you get a TIGHT-SEAL clampin' to yer exhaust manifold..... .Dell

Did you have the block and head resurfaced? Heaven forbid but I've had pistons strike the head that sounded like a very noisy valve. After so many resurfacings, there is no longer room. Also I've have cylinder sleeves rise and fall with piston travel and strike the head. Remove the inspection plates and re-check. If your between 14 and 16, depending on valve, then you've done all you can do.

Did you grind the head? Possibly you have a valve tapping the head. It's been known to happen if you machine off too much.
