OK, so I was driving Henry around the farm. Just looking and charging. Since I haven't tackled the Hyd unit yet I tied the Hog PTO shaft to a chain hanging from the top link pin on said Hog. Keep it "up" with no danger/noise. Tooling all around checking the tall grass I'll need to mow (I HAD TO CHARGE THE BATTERY!!!). When I was going into the barn I looked back at the mower and noticed the front half of PTO drive shaft GONE. Well I knew how stupid I had been!!!
Went around twice but a BIG storm brewing, will look later. I bet nobody on this board ever did anything like that. (Yeah, right)

Been there done that. As we speak , I'm building a 10x48 lean-to on my 30x48 pole barn, at this point I have the poles set and the header boards up, last night I stared insalling the rafters, I got 7 of them up when I noticed I did'nt have enough rafter boards, I needed twice as many rafters than I had ?????....Then "Bingo" "Ding" "Duh" !!, I figured out what was wrong, I had installed the rafters on 2' centers instead of 4' centers !Duh again ! Luckly I used hangers and lag screws, I just had to unscrew every other one(3)

So like I said,"Been there,done that"
(-:

later "4'center" dave

Watch where you point the pointy-end of those lag screws that you got loaded into that driver, Dave, remember the big hammer thing?

...Thanks for sharing, without going into my past 'dumb things I did' file I can say that it is good for me to know that I am not alone in this world when it comes to doing 'not-so-bright' stuff...I think it all started when I was very young and took two knives and put one into each prong of a 110 outlet then decided to touch the metal blades together...then BANG... That was the first time I really saw my father look like he was wondering if I was really his kid *grin*

Oh I think we all do things like that once in a while. Heck, the other day I ran out of gas going to get the mail, shoulda seen the wife, thought her eyes were gonna roll out the back of her head.

Hopefully not an expensive joyride

And I thought I was the only one who did things like that. I recently took my 2N down the road a couple miles. Told the wife that I needed to "blow the cobs out of it". Yea, right. Sure looked like a joyride to her, too.
