Hey just wanted to get on and say thanks to those who gave the good advice on my starter replacement. It was alot easier with the oil filter housing off for sure. Dell thanks again for the advice on the new type bendix I've only started it twice now and I'm in love with the way it keeps the starter going until the engine really gets going.

Now I have to clean the fuel line since when last I used it before the starter went out I rad out of gas in the middle of the driveway and had to refill and got the last start from the old starter. Now the o girl runs sluggish so I think I stirred up the crud in the take with the quick splash of gas and movement out of the drive way.

Thanks for the help

RD I had to replace both the starter and did the drive as well since the teeth were worn pretty bad IMHO. I picked up the starter with the drive attached on Ebay and even with the shipping it was less that both at the NH dealer in town.

Rod I wasn"t aware to the other screens besides the one on the bowl. Where are the other two, one in the tank and one in the carb I would guess?

Hi, I read your post and I have the same problem with my starter. Did you have to replace your starter or your starter drive? Thanks RDAllison

Thats Great that the old girl is running again. Just a note. I am sure you know this but there are 3 screens if I remember rite. Clean them all and you sould have no problem.
