I have a 48 8n. lift arms would not lower. took out the bolt in the front right corner and the arms lowered. Droped the pump in the belly. was full of dirt. cleaned it all out. put the thing all back together. now the lift dosent work. i can see in the side cover that the pump is moving, pto shaft is turning. no leaks from anywhere. IS THERE SOMETHING INSIDE OF THE PUMP THAT WOULD NOT LET THE PUMP WORK PROPERLEY. Thanks For any Help You Can Give ME!!!!

Have you by any chance read Zane's troubleshooting guide yet? Zane Sherman has invented several devices for N hydraulics and knows them inside & out, so his words should be most helpful.

Just click the link below and it should take you there.

Hope this helps,
Carl

yes i made sure the lever was in there. i didnt see any leaks of any kind. but i dont understand what you meant about a blown gasket. was you talking about the valve chambers. i was hopeing that maybe something like a check valve in there or something that may be dirty.

Check the gaskets at the cylinder under the seat and the feed tube that feeds from the pump the upper hydralic cylinder.

When you put the pump back in did you make sure the quadrant control slid back in the hole of the pump intake and exhaust control valve? Check for spraying oil up inside also, maybe a blown gasket.
