Allison..... ..theres yer problem, you took it apart..... .you write....."did not get a carb kit I just took it apart and cleaned it. I only see 2 adjustment screws one on the throttle shaft and one next to the hole at the top. Unless that pin at the bottom is it but I thought that was the drain"

While all carb drawings LIE, the NON-STANDARD Zenith carb is a REPLACEMENT carb and therefore will NOT have diagram in enny manual. Isn't that amazing? Usually rebuild kits include a carb drawing.

But look at that M/S sideview with the ADJUSTMENT tweek-em in bottom of carb bowl. The ZENITH is exactly like that.

From my personal archives:..... ..."Zenith Carb on 2N.

My new Zenith seemed to be starving the engine when you take off in 3rd gear. I had been told that the high speed needle was the one on top and the idle was on bottom. In reality the high speed adjustment is on the bottom and the idle adjust is on top..Initial adjustment for the Zenith is as follows: 2 ½ turns out on the bottom T - shaped, high speed main jet and 3/4 turn out on the idle needle on top..After warm up and at 3/4 throttle turn the main adj. T shaped bottom screw in till the engine stumbles then turn it out till it smooths out. Adjust the top/idle screw for the smoothest slow speed..My main jet/bottom T-shaped screw wound up at three turns out and works great. No instructions come with a Zenith so just thought I'd post this info that was shared with me...and it works....

N.B..... ....In ALL my carb adjustment experience, and I've adjusted a lot of different makes of carbs, I ALWAYS adjust for FASTEST IDLE, NOT SMOOTHEST IDLE..... ..Dell

Thank you very much for your instructions. They worked very well once I could understand what each adjustment was for. Thanks again, RDAllison
