Are the newer double seal rear axle trumpets able to be swapped out for the older single seal rear axle trumpets? What would it take to do so.

Just curious.

Hey Pooh..... ..remember Hakeems Razar. New rear axle seals $20 (cheap) USED trumpets $200. NEW rearaxle shaft $150. NEW bearings $50.

More better you replace the seal-killing tapered splined rear HUB $50..... ...Dell

Pooh...there was a post a few months back on this subject. You might try a search. One thing that stood out for me was the axle shaft has to be changed(or machined)along w/ the changing trumpets. The newer shafts have a machined surface for the outer seal to ride on.

I remember a post about it quite a while back. I have bad luck when searching the archives. Probably be easier for me to just get a later model 8N with the double seals and just change out the whole rear end. That's a whole nother subject.

Thanks.
