My 8n oil pressure guage will read o then 18, and back and forth on start up it's about 30 but after running for a while it will act like the guage doesn't work then will jump to 15 to 18 and stay there for a few minutes and back to 0. Anybody have any ideals?

Can anyone tell me what the square shaft on the back of my new oil pressure gauge is for . It turns but does not have any bearing on the reading on the gauge'

Another way to clean the line out would be to take it loose then hit the starter button, don't turn on the ignition switch let it turn over long enough to get a goof flow of oil out the line. I might make a mess but it also makes sure you have a good clear line and that also keeps the dirt from going back in to the oil system of your engine.
