I had my lift cover off so I decided to see what type lift piston I had. This is what I found. Has any of you ever seen one like it. It's a first for me.

I doubt it is comercially sold.. however it has been discussed here a few times about re-using your old 3 steel ring piston and mahining a groove for the oring and backup washer.. vs buying 20-30$ of new piston. If ya got a latche.. I guess that is the way to go. I still have my old steel ring piston out of my 8n.. and it's in great shape otherwise.. I'd guess many of the take out pistons are.. save the rings.. etc../ bore

Yep, old 3 ring style.

Do the upgrade to an O ring.

Hey Dunk
Take a closer look, it has a grove for the "O" ring. It had an o'ring in it. I wonder if it is an aftermarked or someone machined the grove in it.

I see it now that you pointed that out, and I sobered up..

Maybe one of the others will have more info on this.

Hey Dunk, thanks for putting the picture up. I tried to do it but all I got was the dreaded red x. Tried to resize but to no avail,
