Bucketts..... ..yer lower link pin ain't TIGHT, 150ft/lbs tight. But the ONLY-WAY to tighten it is from INSIDE due to the cotter-keyed castelated nut.

Guys have already told you the best way is to remove the LEFT trumpet and slide the diffy out for access to the right castelated nut and the left castelated nut at the same time. (2-nuts with 1-trumpet)

You may have other "issues" such as wallered-out hole in the castiron trumpet. J&B weld is recommended "fix" for wallered out holes.

Gitt out yer I&T FO-4 manual ($25, cheap) 8N pins are tapered and NOT INTERCHANGEABLE with straight sided 2N pins which also has a gasket plate..... ...Dell

The only good way to get at it is to drain the oil, support the tractor and remove the LEFT side trumpet. Then, the ring gear assembly will just lift out, and you can access the cotter pin and nut that you will want to either tighten or replace as an assembly.

And you get a good look at the Left side pin, too.

Then you get to flush, clean and wipe out any accululated gunk.

PTO seal not real dry... here is your time....!
THat is "mission creep" but you are there.

Buckets---Sorry---there is no simple fix for this one. You have to remove the axle trumpet. If you want to do both sides, it is recommended that you remove the left side. That will enable you to reach in and get the right side too.

On the inside the pins are hooked up with a castle nut that has a cotter pin thru it that holds the nut on.

If you go to the archives and type in "leaking lift arms" click on the posts around 1/14/07 and one of the forums members has posted pics of this fix---Good luck--Tim
