I replaced plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, breaker arm and condenser. I did not remove the distributor and put everything back in the same position it came off. Starts on the first crank and runs stronger but I get some poofs every 15 seconds that were not there before. Could this be due to the breaker arm gap being to large? Thats the only thing I can think of that could have changed. Thanks
Richard

I am guessing that the poof was not there before you did the work. If that's the case the policy is "Last thing touched = first thing checked". It wouldn't be the first time a tractor ran with crossed plug wires that the installer insisted were in the right location, or a plug gap got mashed a little to close before the plug was installed.

For S&G's recheck point gap and timing, if on a side mount.

otherwise.. may be stuck valves. Adds ome MMO or atf fluid to your gas.. even 2 cycle mix oil..sure it will smoke some. and you may have to run it on some good gas after it stops poofing to clean the plugs.. but it's a cheap attempt at a fix that don't require wrenches.

If it is valves.. some have takes the side covers off and scrubbed stems down with MMO and got even better results.. that requires wrenching though...(grin)
