I ran out of daylight but am about ready to pull timing cover. Looks like I will have to pull alternator the way it has been mounted, and maybe the governor. I'm looking at the FO-4 manual and it doesn't say anything about this but, well here's dumb question #673, Do I need to drain the oil before I pull the timing cover? Thanks for your continued support!

You don't have to remove the governor, but you do have to back at least one bolt out most of the way.

Most of the oil should be in the pan.

Don't forget the front bolts under/behind the pulley.

Chuck,
Alternator? Yep. Governor, Nope. Oil? Only if you loosen the timing cover by removing the pan!
