Rob..... ...this is a popular 3-wire 12v conversion pictorial using the more desirable 12v squarecan ignition coil. We do NOT recommend the deceptively desirable 1-wire alternator conversion because unlike the 600rpm 3-wire; it don't start charging until about 1800rpms..... ....Dell

I just bought this tractor and it is already converted to 12V. It does not have the rectangular-looking resister. It has a round- looking piece about 1/2 in. thick and a little bigger than the size of a quarter. I assume this is a resister? Thanks.

Try this 12v pictorial, the ceramic 12-to-6 volt converting resistor can be square, rectangular, or hockeypuck shaped. Electrons don't know the difference..... ...Dell
