Ok, got this tractor, sorry, not the Ford, Diesel , it has not been mainteained in a while. I need some thing that I can spray on and hose off to take the grease, spilled diesel and crud off.. Got any ideas? Was thinking about Simple green, btw, cold engine since I can't get it started, that is whey I need to clean it, to get to the battery cables for ground and hot.

Thanks

Well, got it cleaned off enought to get to the battery leads. Got them tight, And the major problem is the battery! Tractor Supply battery, but it is 9 years old!!! No wonder it won't charge fully. So, got it out and in the barn to be replaced.

The battery was not date stamped, Daddy had scratched it into the top of the case with is pen knife. :-( Should have it going tomorrow..

Thanks for your help and ideas.

If you don't mind removing some paint along with the grease EAsy off in the yellow can or the cheap generic brand at your local store will remove the heck out of that grease. If you leave it on really long it will also loosen up the paint.

Purple Castrol Cleaner it will take grease off no problem. It is a High Detergent Cleaner and will even fade paint and remove some. Scrape off the big chunks then just spray this on and rince and spray again till clean. A pressure washer works great with it. Mark H.

Here is one I did that way with this stuff, a little elbow grease plus a wire brush to polish the metal. Mark H.
