If you don't like TSC's Ferguson dark gray (I didn't - too dark) mix a small amount of the lighter gray in till it suits you. Then you got a "custom" paint job on your 9N.

I actually tried a about a pint of the Ford blue mixed into a gallon of the dark gray. Very nice color but I decided to go 8N colors and used it to paint a couple of lathes instead.

TOH (who never went to art school)

I thank I used a gray Rustoleium on my 49 8N and was very pleased with the color.

I also used IH Red from the ACE Hardware store for my red, and am really pleased with it.

I don't like that beige gray I have seen some 8Ns painted, it looks funny to me, even if they do think it is the real color.

I think a 9N is original Battleship Gray.

Cause it was plentiful.

But I may be off my rocker.
