I haven't paid attention to Ford values beyond the 8Ns. Today I ran across a 1955 800 with good metal and paint, new rear tires, a 6-foot Deere finish mower, a 7-foot blade in nice condition, and a Ferguson two-bottom plow. Asking price is "$5400 OBO." Does anyone know what an 800 alone or with such attachments would typically be worth? It's in southern Minnesota. I value your advice.

Thanks to all of you guys for the info. The consensus seems to be what I was thinking -- a bit on the high side by at least a few hundred dollars. I haven't seen it run; it was just sitting along the road a couple of miles from an old-tractor swap meet. Every mile or so is another old something-or-other for sale. I don't really need any of the stuff -- tractor or otherwise. The sign broke it down as $4,000 for the tractor and $1,400 for the add-ons -- no separating. I'll wait until the nearby-swap-meet-induced price has a chance to cool off and then check to see if the owner still has it and actually wants to sell. A lot of people put their stuff out by the road just in case someone has been so inspired by the swap meet that he's not thinking clearly about prices. Thanks again, guys.

Tough call.
If I was looking for that tractor and if everything was good and you could put them to work the the way they should the day you brought them home and if he knocked off $500 I would be sore tempted.
It is a big step up from an N.
But if you got it you wouldn't look back.
You might try to talk him out of just the imelements as a good running N could handle any of those tools.
Keep us posted.

In my area.. a good running N will fetch 1000-3500. A naa or hundred series will usually fetch 2500-4500... The implements add half or less their new value. For instance.. I see about 850$ worth of implements. I think the 5400$ number is a tad on the high side.. even if it is a real clean machine.. unless it was restored.

I'd look to purchase all that for 4k or perhaps 4500 MAX

Tranny on the 800 series will change the price a bit. The 5spd of the 850/860 is more desireable than the 4 spt of the 840. And the 2 stage clutch of the 860 is the most desireable.. IMHO.

Early thousand series also hit this $ range. I see hundred and thousand sereis in good condition sell for 3500$ all day... And I considder 3500 for those machines as top dollar if they are in 'average' condition..

Your region, and availability will effect that price range

Just the tractor would sell for $2000-4000 around here. With the almost new tires the price would be in the high end of those numbers unless it doesn't run well or smokes. The plow around $250. Blade around $200-400, can't say on the mower but you said deere so that makes it higher just because of the name on it

I say it is in the ballpark, with all of the Xtras, even if a bit at the high end.

But you still may be able to haggle a good bit on it, as long as there aren't any takers ahead of you.
