ford 9n oil pressure

my 9n has no oil pressure on spring start up after setting this winter, has always been slow to build pressure on start up,and drops to about 8lbs when hot,any ideas? ran it on idle several minutes.

A couple minutes at idle with no oil pressure probably made your rebuild decision a lot easier. Especially if the oil pressure was spotty to begin with. Prime pump and fill with a SAE 40 or heavier and see what you get.

Try to prime it. remove the big oil pressure relief plunger ont he front of the engine and dump in some thick gear oil.. slap it back in and start rolling the egine over fast.

Also.. What weight oil you running?

I think if you are running 30.. it may be time to try 40 or 50 ( or 60 )
