Looking to purchase a 9n that has a lot of attachments. Loader, box blade, 2 bottom plow, disc harrow, blade, and more. The tractor is in fair condition, starts easily but the brakes are not good. Need to know how expensive/difficult it is to repair the brakes and whether $3000 is a fair price.

Well figure it this way. The blade is around $250, the box blade $300-400, the plow $250, the disk another $250. So that adds up to $1000-1200, then figure the loader at another $500 if its hyd bucket not trip bucket. So that brings the price of just the tractor down to $1500 so ya its a very good buy unless the tires are shoot and even then its not a bad buy. Also the brakes on those tractors where never known to be all that good when they are working right

Ron, In Central Minnesota, that price is a bargain. A good 9N alone will sell for $2,000-2,500. The implements you've listed would be at least another $1,000, and you say there's more ($500 for a good loader, $100 per foot for a disc, and $300 for the plow). ;-)

If an N is what you want, then do it!

Colin, MN

Here in Central Texas, where a hundred thousand people a year are being addded to the population, a loader is a deal-maker. ANYTHING that runs and has a loader will bring 5-6 thousand dollars.

Anything with a loader that is fairly new, not worn out, and well maintained brings 10-12 thousand.

There's just so much construction work going begging, contractors and sub-contractors will pay that price to get a loader to replace the one they just killed because they "didn't have time to do the maintanence," and replace it NOW. The housing boom may have tapered off elsewhere, but not here...

(And, just try to get a road built, a roof put on an existing home, or plumbing or electircal repairs done in a timely fashion!)

In contrast, a good running 9N without a loader seems to bring more like $1500-2000, with excellently restored examples fetching $3000-3500 or so, which I gather is much the same as elsewhere.
