NOPE..... ...no vermin nesting..... .just crude in the wire mesh..... ....Never took the filter all the way apart before..... only thought cleaning of the oil bath tray was necessary..... .WOW..... ..there is alot of wire mesh.....soaking it all night in distilants..... .who would have ever thought...except for duey and the other guy..... .

Ron..... ..you do know the oilbath airfilter is supposted to be self-flushing, don't you?

Engine/carb vacuum sucks oil upinto filter mesh and when you turn engine off, FLUSH!!! as all the oil (and dirt) are supposed to drain down into oilbowl and settle out.

But clean away..... ...Dell

I was just sittin here thinkin....I wonder if once in a while a couple of tablespoons of Mystery oil in one of the oilbath changes would help to cut some of the sludgy stuff and bring it down when it drains???I know it wasn't recommended in the manuals...but it might work if you didn't over do it.

Usually what mine gets clogged with is the fuzzy stuff off of broom sage.

Taking it apart once in a while is the only way I see to get it out.
