In Canada, TSC sells them, I would think in the U.S. too.

"Hot Rod" wires with a "spiral-wound" stainless -steel wire core suppress RF noise AND have low resistance.

They are the next best thing to solid copper wires for these old machines, and a
and are probably a LOT easier to find. I would still recommend the solid-copper wires, but the spiral-wound supression wire will work, too, and I would not hesitate to use them "in a pinch".

Moroso is one supplier. 8MM is shown, 7MM should be available, too.

Typically metal core wires are what i would consider.. pretty cheap.. TSC sells the kit for 19$... ( that's cheap IMHO )

Riverbend..... ....NO RESISTOR automotive sparkie wires. UNDERSTAND???

Use real copper-core sparkie wire. Cut to fit. You're not trying very hard to find real copper-core sparkie wires, are you? I can go to town and buy from my local NAPA autoparts store and gitt real copper-core sparkie wires, anytime.

In fact, that is exactly what I did 15-yrs ago. I bought real copper-core sparkie wires by asking for "HOT-ROD" sparkplug wire kit for Pontiac V8, 'cuz they come with nice waterproof molded right-angle booties to keep the sparkies dry. Cut'n'fit. Simple, eh?

Don't matter iff'n yer tractor is 6v or 12v, use COPPER-CORE sparkie wires. Understand???

Now I could go and give you a long technical explanation why modern anti-radiostatic carbon-core sparkie wires ain't good for your barely adequate sparkies; or I could just tell you, buy old-fashioned copper-core sparkies wires, cut'n'fit. Which would you like? ..... ..respectfully, Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

Well....
i tried Napa as you suggested and they don't have copper core only mettalic core. maybe napa is different in canada from USA as thats where i am located.
Tractor Supply closed down so i'm stuck waiting for some to arrive.
So....
I guess i have to wait and try then.

Riverbend..... ...in the grand scheme of sparkie wires, there are 2-types of center conductors, ceramic/fiberglass carbon-core anti-radiostatic modern sparkie wire; and nasty old fashioned copper-core that statics radios and electronic brains that control the fuel injectors.

And the difference between copper-core and metallic-core IS???

Shirley, the brown trucks run in Canada too? NAPA gitts DAILY DELIVERYS from brown down here south of the border. (and other delivery companys) And yer NAPA parts ignoramus didn't suggest placing a special order??? Or is this a north of the border thing, eh? ..... ..respectfully, Dell the dumbfounded sparkie-mister

I also got new points and will do them aswell.
Thanks for your help.
Your a genius when it comes to ignition.
How do you know so much?
Did you work as an electrical engineer or something?

River..... ..DON'T MUCKA'ROUND with yer NAA Jubie sparkie wires. They won't fitt yer 8N!!!!

Growing up in the mountains of Colorado, I had to learn how to mechanic for myself. I then bought a 1969 BMW 2002 at the factory in Munich Germany on my honeymoon and had to learn sprachen'z'duche? in metric. I was a BMW dealer mechanic for a while.

I am by professional training (college etc) an electronics engineer specializing in instrumentation. I worked on Apollo and Deep Space tracking stations. I retired after 20yrs as a flight test engineer for Boeing studying the effects of vibration on airplanes using accelerometers. People gitt excited when things start falling off the airplane for some reason. (grin).

I also raise sheep to train my Australian Shepherd dogs for stockdog competition, I got my 8N to help manage the sheep pasture. 8N tractors are simple compared to BMW's or 747 airplanes..... ..Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

Thakns for the tip on the Jubilee plugs. I won't even touch them.
Wow, you definatley must know your stuff to have worked in the fields that you have been in.
I guess an 8N is slightly less difficult than a deep space tracking station?
I bought the Jubilee beacuase my dad had one until we moved to town when i was 15. I loved it and searched for 4 years for one of my own. and i finally got it. It is fully restored and other than tires is ready for a parade. It is my baby, the 8N is the work horse but latley the way it has been running the Jubilee is pulling the load.
Again thanks for all you help.
it finally stopped raining today so i'll do the points and let you know how it turned out.
thanks again for everything.
then bought an 8N last summer to do some mowing.

If NAPA doesn't have them on hand they should be able to have them by the next day or at least here they can on almost any thing you need
