Routing exhaust to the front?

I had an idea to route the exhaust on my 2N to the front and then with an elbow down and to the side, as some small tractors now have. I'm thinking that may make it a bit quieter from the seat. Has anyone ever experimented with this configuration? Any thoughts on how it might work?

I also have a muffler from a 600cc 4 cylinder motorcycle that I thought about trying. I'm not sure if a difference in flow would impact the N engine or carb settings, but the motorcycle it came off of operated at up to 13,000 RPM, so I would imagine the amount of air it allowed means it wouldn't be an issue. It just has more baffling then the N muffler.

Just some thoughts...any input is appreciated!

Not rerouted like you talk about, but did adapt a Datsun 510 muffler in place of the regular one and it was a whole lot quieter. Could not notice any difference in the way the tractor ran.

If I unnerstand you, it's a horizontally mounted front discharge your after? Just remove what ya got an bolt it up backerds, leaving off the tail pipe. Mufflers are designed to dampen certain sound frequencies, tiny pistons moving real fast don't sound like big pistons moving slow. Get a stock type muffler off a mid 50s to mid 60s 6 cylender car. Then you'll be surprised at how much racket gears and implements make.

Vertical exhaust gets rid of the Ford hot foot and the carbon monoxide poisoning when using a cord wood saw.Almost forgot, no more hay catching fire.....
