Ok I know i saw the proper transmission, rear end, and lift oil for my 1948 8n, from NAPA , but i'll be damm if i can the MSG that was posted. anyone have the NAPA number?

It can be hard on yellow metal if it has not been formulated to not damage them.

there are a few manufacturers that make a gl4/5 oil that claims to be ok for yellow metals. otherwise I look gor a gl-3.. which is probably what TSC carries marked for ford.. etc.

Failing that.. gl-1 seems to work fine too.


For the person looking fro a napa number.. 65-205 = 5g pail.

That's the thick stuff.....lots of folks like the Ford 134d for year around use.

Ordinary GL-1, GL-2, GL-3, GL-4, or really common GL-5 (available almost anywhere and as recommended by the IT FO-4 manual for N-Fords) will work.
