Pic from P and P if I'm lucky. Found this crack in the housing which holds the driving pinion pilot bearing #4625. Any idea of what would have caused this and whether it will cause any future problems? Could have been there for 50 years, Thanks BB

I do not see the crack that you are referring to in your picture but will say that this structure is the weak link in the N tractors.

N differential housings fail in this area so if yours is indeed cracked it is likely that it will fail sooner or later.
