Every time I had hard starting problems on my Jubilee, it was because of points. Make sure your points are clean and gapped at 0.025" - same as your plugs. I make it a point to pass a dollar bill between my closed points a few times to burnish them slightly - seems to help a bit. Don't have a dollar bill????? Don't know for sure, but a five or ten may work just as well - I never seem to have anything larger that a dollar, so can't speak for how well other denominations may or may not work. LOL

Ryster..... ..NO, NOT NORMAL; unless yer engine is OIL-BURNER.

New sparkies are ALWAYS eazier to start. What ain'cha tellin' us???

You have IGNITION PROBLEMS, best guess on yer lack of information, BAD IGNITION SWITCH.

My eazy starting 6-volt 8N sparkies lasted 10yrs before I un-necessarily replace them while fighting a hard-start sparkie problem cause by the thru the side distributor feedthru semi-shorting out. New nylon bushing $50c (cheap) un-necessary sparkie change $8. Spare set of sparkies, free..... ..Dell, yer self-apointed sparkie-meister

Thanks Dell for responding...my tractor does not burn a drop of oil and when I put in new spark plugs I can just hit the starter (12 volt) and fires up! as time goes on it has to turn over more and more. Should I replace ignition switch? I did have to use a piece of wire and jump across ignition switch a couple of times last fall but have not had to do that for the last few months.
Your help is greatly appreciated

Ryster

What do the plugs look like when you pull them out. If there black and soty you may have the carb set to rich and that will foul out your plugs. Also if I where you I would check your spark and make sure its a nice brite blue spark because again a weak spark can cause them to foul out also
