I have a flat back tire on my 8n. How much does this wheel and tire weigh? Is it a two man job to load it in the back of the pickup? I"m not 20 years old anymore. Thanks for any help.

I bought a good rim with a worn 11:00 - 28 tire on it from Palmer Fossum a few years back. It was loaded, and we knew it was. We got it slid in the back of a pickup and I took it home.

I suppose I had help loading it, but after that I was on my own. I got it unloaded and emptied the CaCL out... took the tire & tube off and welded on a valve stem protector and painted the inside of the rim.

Put it back together, no fluid, and loaded it up for the trip to the farm.

The major risk in handling tires is NOT EXPECTING them to be HEAVY. You can do lots of things as long as your avoid the surprises.

Don't get caught between a hard place and Iraq.

You too?
I pulled the tire off my tractor yesterday.
Took the 6 bolts off that hold rhe rim to the center. Mine aren"t loaded. The rim and tire don"t weigh over a hundred lbs is my guess.
Lean it against the tailgate and lift the bottom up into the pickup. Not too much for a guy to lift even if he"s three X 20 yo.
Mine had a big nail sticking out of the tire so I jacked the tractor up and pulled the tire.
After I got it off I noticed that the schrader valve was damaged. And it looked more like the culpret than the nail which I don"t think got the tube.
Going to go this week and buy a new screw in schrader valve. Hopefully that is the trouble and I wont have to break down the tire to patch the tube. Good Luck

I'm pretty sure the back tire has only air in it. I don't have a trailer. The tire shop is only 5 miles away. I'm thinking it might weigh about 150#.

Well, does it have air or other in it?

It is nearly a 2 woman job to get me out of bed since I turned 50..

I can move a tire with water in it as long as I keep it standing, and prop it up.

No way could I put it in the back of a pickup.

With air in it I think I could.
