Does the 9n 2n tractor have the swinging drawbar? What is the difference between the swinging drawbar and stabilizer bar. Are these a need when spraying /bush hogging? IF anyone has pics they would be helpful. Thanks for all responses.

Pushman...here's a pic from the archives of an early swinging drawbar on an 8N. It pivots from a pin & bracket mounted under the diffy.

The 9N/2N didn't have the holes drilled & tapped on the underside of the diffy casting, so there's no way to mount the pivot bracket.

The white arrow is pointing to the stabilizer bar. The bar going across the bottom of the picture is a draw bar. There are different kinds of draw bars.

Tom.. your's are not going to line up.. even adjustable ones.. untill you get the correct brackets. If your brackets are not inthe correct geometry with their pins being in line with the lower lift pins then any fixed bar.. even an adjsutable one.. will bind when you lift or lower the arm. There's now shortcut to this.. get the 14$ bracket set.. then the 8$ stabilizer bars will fit correctly... Or you can use the more expensive adjustable ones if you want...

If you don't fix this right.. you will break something expensive when all that metal goes in a bind back ther eon the 3pt..

Please check your email....I have decided that these stabilizer bars are off of some other tractor. I Turned the bracket around that was facing toward the tire but the stabilizer bars still don't fit..With a drawbar on the arms I can easily tell where the swinging arms are centered. With the arms centered, both stabilizer bars are approx. 1/2 hole too long..My stab. bars measure 31 1/2" center to center of the holes.

HAD TO HACKSAW ONE OF THE FENDER/BRACKET BOLTS off last night but will turn the bracket around as it should be tonight and see what happens. I also got my stabilizer bar straightened today.

You need stabilizer bars for a bush hog. I use them with all my toys. Dont have a sprayer thou.

stabilizer bars are connected to the brackets that are mounted to the fender mounting bracket.

They are handy for many attachments but I find no use for them on my 2-bottom plow.

mad farmer, they are not made to be used wif ground engaging equipment. they keep bushogs and mowers, and boom poles, carryalls and other such equipment from swinging side to side while using. Does that make sense to ye now?
