This tractor was sitting for a few years before I got it, not running. I flushed the tank and fuel system replaced the carb with one from a running 8n,and I am not getting any fuel in the cylinders. Fuel will drip out the air cleaner side after cranking for a wile. ran a wire up the manifold and it seens to be open. good comp. in all holes. replaced pionts cond. rotor and it has good spark. any ideas would be great. I looked in the archives and did not see much on this issue. Thanks for you help. I am getting fuel down to the carb.

ogdco..... ..How do you know you're NOT getting fuel on yer plugs??? And iff'n you were, (and you are, believe it or not) you've FLOODED yer sparkies with INVISIBLE NO-LEAD gasoline from all yer crankin'. How do I know that? Because you report fuel draining out the mouth of yer carb. The ONLY way fuel gitts outta yer carb bowl is by piston vacuum suckkin' it out.

REPLACE yer FLOODED sparkies with new dry clean AutoLite AL437 sparkies (gap = 0.025")

DEFINE "good comp. in all holes"..... .Ford specs: 90psi min (dry)

DEFINE "good spark"..... .will it jump a 3/16" gap???

You write..... "I looked in the archives and did not see much on this issue"..... .you didn't look very hard did you??? Many entrys. ..... .respectfully, Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

Pull the air intake tube off the carb. Then hold your hand over the end of the carb. You should get a good sucktion when you turn the engine over. If you don't then you have a manifold leak or you have low compression. Easy way to fox compression whcih does go bad from sitting a long time is fill the cylinders with tranny fluid and let it sit a couple days.

The line coming from the tank to the carb does get plugged. If the tractor set a few years the gas in that line probably turned to a sticky tar. Also check the screen in the sttement bowl.

If you disconnect the feed line to the carb and nothing comes out with gas in the tank, you can bet you've got a plugged line or screen.

Another famouse place for an 8n to plug is just above the bowl in the tank. You have to empty the gas from the tank and remove the bowl valve from the tank. Then take a wire (close hanger works) and clean the hole where the valve goes into the tank. Be CAREFUL not to mess up the threads.
