Thought you guys would get a good laugh at this one!
On monday I brought my 1952 8N to the garage to R+R hydraulics.
My wife had about 60 feet between her rear bumper and the tractor. I guess it was a little too close for her, only 60 feet!
So as she was making fun of my boots we pulled out she guns it in reverse towards the end of the driveway extremely fast as she was in a hurry and smashed into the 8N.
Destroyed the rad and front of the tractor, destroyed the truck bumper and tailgate (at least $3000 damage).
Then apparantly it was my fault for only being able to push the tractor to it s parking spot where she hit it.
And she refuses to apologize saying it 's my fault.
Boy I'm a real jerk for parking my tractor 60 feet behind her.
Next time I'll learn.
She's never driving the tractor when its fixed!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that goes through this.

I bought a new car a couple years ago to replace a beat up clunker that wasn't going to see another 100 miles. Always wanted a brand new Grand Prix and finally went out and got one. My wife thought she had to run to the store for something so I made the misatke of giving her the keys. She got in the car put it in drive, looked over her shoulder to back out and stepped on it. Slammed the front of my week old car into a Chevy Suburban. Didn't damage the suburban, but did loads of damage to the car. My fault for getting an automatic, she's used to standard.

Last week I unloaded the horse trailer and parked my truck at the bottom of my driveway. My wife gets home from work and parks her car at the top of the driveway. Well, she put her STANDARD in second gear and went in the house. A little while later we hear a loud crash. Look out the window to find her car planted nicely in the front of my truck. My Fault cause it wasn't an automatic. Go figure

I thought I had it bad when my wife backed in to the side of my bright red sports car that SHE parked 40" behind her car. Okay, so it"s nowhere near the size of the tractor.

We have a driveway @ 30' x 60' up to the double car garage. My 40' x 75' shop is off to the right of the drive @ 40' away from the garage. There is enough room to do a donut. My wife has managed to back into the shop, a 16' trailer and the dog house on separate occasions. She has to walk around the back of the truck to get in with the garage door open, so it's not like she doesn't get to see whats behind her before getting in the truck. I don't think she uses anything but the rearview mirror when she is in reverse and only until she clears the garage door. You just can't win...

I think you need to show here who's REALLY in charge at your home.

Don't know about you, but in my house, I'm the boss.

And she gave me permission to say so.

I feel your pain....I was in the next county when the wife backed out of the garage with out opening up the garage door. It was still my fault, I guess I had adjusted the rear view mirror to my liking, she couldnt see out of it when she was backing out..... go figure.

Well Lucky enough for me there was only damage to vehicles and not the house.
The house was within 100 feet so it was definatley at risk aswell, With my wife behind the wheel.
And wow!! are rads expensive!!!!
I found some on ebay for about $150 so it lloks like thats what i have to do.
I guess it gives me a chance to get the 12V conversion kit in while its down.
I sure learned my lesson on this one.
No matter what I do I'm wrong and no matter where I park I'm at risk.
But at least I still have my tractor!

I tell ya...

I'd figger fer a few days on upgrading to a newer model (Ole Lady)

Then for a day or so I would figger there wouldn't ever be a chance, on me getting used to putting up with another ones ways, (not in what I have left of this lifetime) and bite the bullet, and see...

Just how the Ell I am gonna deal with this problem at hand....

I thought about that and believe me I would love to, but..... that might to work out so well!!!!
Next time i'm under the hood I could be in for another "accident" if I pulled somthing like that.
She'd probably drive over me and say it was my fault too!!!

I agree with your wife. Your fault. You should have learned about parking stuff behind your wifes car in the operators manual. The operators manual that came with your wife. I know better without reading the manual. You need to go and as her to forgive you.

Good thing she didn't suffer from whiplash or you would really be in the doghouse. Fix the tractor and don't worry about the truck.

I can't believe you blocked her in like that. How thoughtless of you. There was only enough room for her to squeeze six or seven cars out past the tractor simultaneously. You know as a married man that it is all your fault and that there's no reason whatsoever to cloud the issue with facts. They're truly amazing creatures..... ....Sorry that happened to your truck and tractor. Guess it's a good thing you weren't standing in the driveway. It could have been much worse.

Look at the positive side, since she didn"t hit the house, that must mean you were right when you built it where you did!

My wife's car has a bumper-sticker on it's rear bumper that says, "If you can Read This....you're parked in the Wrong Place!"
It's become a long and funny family-story... (I once arrived home to find she'd backer her car into my car...but in doing so, she'd actually damaged the FRONT of her car and the REAR of mine. The insurance company didn't believe it was possible either and sent a special investigator out. (My Jeep was parked 20' behind and to the left of her car. Backing out while looking over her right shoulder towards the rear while turning right...her left front clobbered my right rear....wiping out the entire front of her car as it "wiped" across my entire right-rear quarterpanel.) So knowing she always backs up that way...our houseguests parked on the opposite sideto the of her car. She managed to hit their left-rear quarterpanel while looking out for my Jeep. You had to be there to find it as funny as our guests did, especially since she'd personally inspected the position of their car before backing. It was bizarre.
