Do I remember that there is a baffle inside the 8N gas tank? Is there anything I should know before I proceed? I am planning on using OW to do the square nut tumble thing on GT's gas tank, then give it some POR 15 I have on the shelf. I did that a while back on the old Portable Generator project and it worked well. Very noisy, but very effective. This time I'll park OW a little farther away from the shop.

Ramrod- I used the POR on my Farmall project and had small silver flakes come loose that plugged my sediment bulb. I followed all of the instructions when using it. I wouldn't do it again. On my 8N I just cleaned the tank well and forgot about the liner and things have been just fine. I know other people have used the product with good results but that was my experience with it. Bob

Yes, the 8N gas tank has baffles in it - but the tumbling trick will still work. Carefull with the coating, most of the time it causes more harm than good. I would just clean it and use it.

Not sure how the gas tank got included in a steering box rebuilt though... :-)
