According to my Boeing Engrs handbook, 7/16 BRASS-NUTTS are torqued to 27ft/lbs. Be certain to use "anti-sieze" on them. Brass-nutts are used so they STRIP when they are corroded and removed. That way yer studs stay in the block. Double check yer studs for 50ft/lbs torque before re-installation, you haffta use double-nutts to JAM together so you can torque the stud, understand? ..... ...Dell

Dell---I replaced a manifold on my 51 about 2 years ago. I seem to remember that somewhere in the archives it was recommended that the 2 middle bolts should be torqued first? Does it make much difference?

Tim..... ..starting yer torquing sequence from middle to OUT is standard technique; witness how yer 18-bolts cylinder-head pattern is laid out.

4-bolts of yer manifold, probably not, but it does allow compensation for "warp-page", if enny ..... .Dell
