Saw a guy in Mexico once sitting cross legged with a clutch disk in his lap. He was roughing it up with sand paper and getting ready to reinstall it in his VW!

I personally know three people who had a car fall off a jack while they were working on it. Two of them are dead.

Reminds of the afternoon my Suburban "fell off the floor jack" and crushed my right arm. Had an External fixator for months before my right arm healed. I"m lucky I am still alive and that I regained the complete use of my right arm. Use jack stands no matter what. I learned the hard way. You just can"t be too careful.

And, no, you shouldn"t try to use your arm as a prop rod for your Suburban...GA Jim

I can tell you one thing! You won't ever catch me doing something stupid like that (again)! I once had a Triumph TR6 up on a floor jack at the back of the car and had to big 12 inch blocks or lengths of a log about 2 feet high using them as safety stand. The jack somehow scooted on the frame and dropped the rear of the car on me. I did manage to turn on my side and it fell and the gas tank is what pinned me at my shoulders. The girl the car belonged to just happened to be strong enough to lift the car up a couple of inches so I could squirm out. I still have muscles in my back under my right shoulder blade that hurt at times just to remind me not to be stupid again!!!!

I shudder to think what will happen to that guy if the car rolls or he bumps one of those 2X4s. Yikes!!!!!

Hey, man, I don't see no stinkin' problem.

After all, he's got a primary brace (the board) and a backup brace (the OTHER board).

Sheesh. I've seen this before but it still shocks me when I see it again.

Wow That gave me the willies!!! I ignored the advice of my Dad when I was 16 and was working under a car with a bumper jack. I figured I could be careful....only thing that saved my life was an enamal stock pot i was draing the oil into. That thing crushed down till the car was about sitting on my chest.....Hadn't thought about that for a looong time...till I saw this! whew
