A friend of mine is moving and has a Ford 8N for sale with 5ft brush hog in good running condition. I think this was from the last year they made them. Can you tell me what would be a fair price? Is $2800.00 reasonable with the hog included? What years were they made. Any info on performance and durability would be appreciated.

That price sounds in line to me if the tractor is in reasonably good condition, with no apparent problems or work needed, especially tires, as they are expensive.

That's a pretty good price in my area for that combination in good working order, if you feel like you need it now.

However, you can do better if you have time to shop.

Offer $2400 & see what he says.

This is an excellent site that will answer most of your questions including things to look for when buying an N:

A good running N w/ a bush hog in my part of VA will go for up to $3k, but price is dependent on a lot of things and location is only one.
