Alliecat..... ...sounds like yer friend has just converted to 12-volts and the alternator is backfeeding power to the ignition coil 'cuz he fergot to put in the "idiot-lite" between the ignition ON terminal and the #1-excite terminal of the alternator.

Unfortunately, I'm lazy and haven't memorized a good 12-volt conversion wiring diagram. But iff'n yer clever, you can search the "archives" at the top of this great N-Board for "12-volt" and vola', yer wanted wiring diagram..... ...respectfully, Dell, a 12-volt advocate for the right reasons

That said, I haven't found the right reason for my eazy starting 6-volt 52-8N, and I know how to do it right the FIRST time. Infact I know 8-ways to do it and they all work.

I just went up the road and "I personally saw that the RED LIGHT on top of that radio tower in question, IS NOW GLOWING BRIGHTLY, this date at 2115 ET.

Never underestimate the Powers of the Village POSTMASTER to get things done, right NOW.

The Postmaster, by the way, is the WIDOW of the GRIMES, dead by tractor a few months ago.

CASE CLOSED... Now about the micro-wave towers being built all over the place.....I am RETIRED.
