I have a 51 8n which I am in the process of repairing brakes. Poor threads on the axle convinced me to replace it. I do not want do everything right the first time. I am looking for an explanation of how the camshaft cover is held in place by 8n2322 spring. I do not want to pull the new hub to add this later. Suggestions on this job and were to purchase the cover and spring would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I have the manual and usually patronize YT online store. I love to shop for tractor parts online. I can compare prices in my recliner.

About the spring and cover? Do you know how it works? Does the spring fit tight on the camshaft ( in order to hold the cover in place)?

Check link below for parts. If they don't have it, check eBay or your local yellow pages as most all tractor dealers can get 8N parts. If you don't already have it, the FO-4 shop manual is worth its weight in gold! Good luck!
