My 9N runs with 0 oil pressure with a little knocking for at the most for a min. after a cold start then the pressure comes up; before destroying the engine any further would you recomend a pump rebuild or are the bearings and journals to far gone for a pump rebuild to do any good for restoring oil pressure? Second question is about the hydralics can a 9N be converted to a late 8N with regards to seperating the PTO and 3pt. hitch from 1 lever to 2?

Doesn't sound good but the only real way to know is an autopsy. You can get some idea just by dropping the pan - which you have to do to rebuild the pump anyway. A look at the bearings and journals may make the decision easy.
