Blew out the ORC and part of the drive shaft last weekend and when looking for parts, TSC had a large ORC that was about 6 to 8 inchs in diameter, looked like a slip clutch????

Wondering what the difference the large ORC has over the smaller ones?

hello all, i'm also new to the 8n tractor hobby, i bought a pair of 1949 8n tractors last summer and totally restored one of them. i can't get her to start. the motor had been rebuilt some 20 plus years ago and has sat ever since. i bought a brand new carburator and it would not suck the gas up through to the cylinders. i tried a old used carb and the same thing. i took the plug out of #4 and no compression. pulled the head about 3 hours work and un-stuck the valves, re-installed the head and 10 psi out of #4 and around 40 psi in the rest. what is the compression supposed to be ? and what should my next step be ?

Red:

I have never seen an ORC for a PTO shaft larger than around 3" or so. Are you sure you are not looking at a slip clutch? How much does it cost.

I would think that an 8" ORC would interfere with various apparatus on most tractors.

That is what I was thinking it might be a slip clutch - but the guy at TSC was stating ORC.

The diameter is so big, I will need to take off the pto guard on my Farmall H to use it.

It goes on the other end, next to the shear pin.

It is an overload slip clutch.
