Yesterday I decided to remove the Back Hoe from my Case530CK. I disconnected Hydraulics & all support Bolts & Nuts. The main connection on my HOE is hard bolted to the rear Axle trumpets (4 on each side) I got all the nuts off but could not drive the bolts back ( weight binding I said) so with bottle Jacks & Blocking I was able to only get 4 bolts free in 4 hours. I figured to get my Neighbors JD FEL to finish

I called it a day and went up on my second story deck with a Bottle of Bacardi Rum. It was by the third drink that I realized I had been working with Stupid all day!

This morning I went out and hooked my hydraulics back up & used the hoe to pull its self off the tractor. 15 min of smart time.

I don’t think Bacardi Rum makes you smarter but it sure does KILL stupid brain cells.

I hang out with him all the time...

10 years or so back he would all of a sudden drain all the blood out of my smart head, and use it all for himself.

Lots of times alcohol was a catalyst.

Quite a few "next mornings" I came close to gnawing my arm off...

I read with amusement these replies to the original post of working with stupid. The lesson I got from it all? what a bunch of humble and very intelligent guys on this forum, who look back and laugh at what life throws them. I wish any number of you guys were my neighbor out here in the wide open spaces of Kansas where I live.

Yep years ago I got home from work one day and found my dad tring to remove the back hoe form our 8N. Hes told me he need help and I looked and sure enough he had unhooked the hyds. I hooked them back up and in 15 minutes or so it was off. He was tring to use jacks also and I sort of just had to laugh when I saw what he was doing.

Got a rear flat on backhoe and after a few choice words I went to tool shed to get socket, breaker bar, and jack. About halfway back to the hoe I realized that I wouldn,t need the jack.
